All you need is wood and lots of it, 60 tons to be precise. Renewable energy is becoming a reality with the National Trust on Dartmoor. The recent woodchip boiler at Castle Drogo has now been joined by a log boiler at Lydford Gorge. Both properties central heating and hot water needs will be entirely met by woodfuel. This of course involves chopping a lot of wood. The Teign valley rangers and their teams of crack volunteers got to work with the assistance of local contractor Tim Cox. A great time was had by all and they can reassure their aching bones that there are many more days like this to come!
